SERVICE PROVIDER SOLUTIONS

Calling all service providers – does any of this sound familiar?

  • Challenged to scale a service from FOA (First Office Application) to a city to a national rollout.
  • No mechanism for baselining your network configuration resulting in outages.
  • No visibility to your global network actual inventory and parameter settings.
  • Complex maintenance window management due to network upgrades taking too long.
  • Many network operations personnel are sharing the same set of credentials.
  • Management systems that do not meet your carrier grade requirements.

If you want a different result, you need to do something different.

Nakina Systems provides products that enable service providers to more quickly and cost effectively deliver new services in a multi-vendor network infrastructure – reducing time to revenue for new service deployments.

What makes Nakina different? We combine:

  • Proven scalability to 10,000s of nodes;
  • Deep function-by-function control for elements of any complexity;
  • Built-in configurability and tier one operations processes.

That’s why Nakina solutions are deployed in daily use to manage critical telecom network infrastructure in over twenty four countries around the world.

Nakina's Network Integrity™ solutions bridge the gap between "proven in the lab" and "ready for national and global rollout." Our ultimate objective is to enable service providers to roll out complex new infrastructure – Ethernet, IMS, optical, and wireless – without operational obstacles and expensive manual processes that slow deployment.

The Nakina Network Integrity™ solutions can be deployed in various rollout stages to enable scaling of services.  Another benefit of using the Nakina solution is that you can choose to license just the applications of interest by deploying the applications that address particular pain points at various stages of service deployment.  The following is the actual Rollout in a Tier One Service provider:

The Nakina Network Integrity™ Solution

By introducing Nakina Network Integrity™ solutions to manage network infrastructure, network operators achieve four key benefits:

  1. Secure access to the network infrastructure.
  2. The Nakina NI-Guardian security applications allow security administrators to easily enforce strong security policies across the network. The Nakina NI-Guardian enables security administrators to eliminate shared passwords (common today) by creating unique user credentials for all network operations staff and provides centralized logging of all network activity enabling a security audit trail.

  3. Rapid integration of new technology.
  4. As new technology becomes available, a Nakina deployment only requires one software adapter (device driver) to handle the vendor-specific communications to the network element.  This adaptation layer allows the Nakina solution to interface into any vendor’s equipment.  Adapters can be rapidly developed and hot deployed with no management system downtime.  Nakina also provides an Adapter SDK to facilitate the rapid adapter development, configuration, and deployment of interfaces.

  5. Reduced systems integration costs.
  6. Once the integration between the Nakina NI-Collector solution and your inventory and provisioning system in the OSS layer is complete – you’re done.  Gone are the days of having a $3M+ integration effort anytime you need to introduce a new vendor’s technology.

  7. Automation and configuration management resulting in the faster rollout of new services to a global scale.
  8. By automating all the key work processes, such as configuration of network elements, backup and restore of critical NE software, pre-upgrade network audits of standing conditions, automated software upgrades, etc., this eliminates the manual and error-prone scripting tools that have led to operational inefficiencies in the past. All applications apply consistently across any number of different vendors’ element types.

Some examples of this in practice include:

  • Gold Standard Parameter Auditing for next gen infrastructure and services

    Next generation services run on next generation network infrastructure, and in some cases it’s clear that the accompanying software tools have a long way to go to catch up.  A simple example:  during roll out of a nation-wide, IMS-based service, software will often need upgrading as is common in the early stages of a product’s life-cycle.  The upgrade process is painstaking and requires auditing each element before an upgrade is performed, to determine the "upgrade readiness" of each element. Using the Nakina NI-Controller, instead of manual audits, the whole process is automated, substantively accelerating the roll-out schedule.

    Nakina NI-Controller is a sophisticated multi-vendor, multi-domain application that provides automated, real-time network configuration, reconciliation and fine tuning of network parameters. It reduces human errors and improves operational efficiency by dynamically finding discrepancies between network inventory systems and the actual discovered parameters in multi-vendor, legacy and next-generation telecommunications networks.

  • Supercharging your inventory management systems

    What good is data in your inventory management system if it isn’t consistent with what’s in your network?  By mating the Nakina NI-Collector auto-discovery engine to your deployed inventory management solution in the OSS layer (e.g., Amdocs/CRAMER, Telcordia/Granite, etc.), additions and changes made to the network are automatically detected and reconciled in the inventory management database of record, helping eliminate the 20% to 40% inaccuracies that are common in inventory databases today.
  • Security, Identity Management and Single Sign On

    Security administrators responsible for large service provider networks face impossible obstacles when using manual techniques to manage passwords and access privileges for network operations staff.

    Nakina's Nakina NI-Guardian applications take access security to a new level by extending enterprise identity and access management capabilities to the traffic-bearing network elements of a telecom network.  Benefits include:

      • Single sign-on to staff responsible for day-to-day network operations
      • Eliminating shared passwords
      • Unique user credentials and tailored access privileges for every staff member
      • Central logging of all network operator activity for future review
